You lead the design and we provide the advice, local knowledge and honest pricing. The process becomes just as rewarding as the outcome – the act of creating something truly new.
Design freedom
Bring us your ideas. Already have a design sketched? Whether its on the back of a napkin, or you’ve worked with another designer, we are happy to build to your plans, give feedback on buildability and cost, and take care of everything from there.
Design alongside us. Simply starting with an idea or vibe? Maybe a Pinterest board? Sit down with our team and we will shape the home around your dreams and desires. We ask plenty of questions early so we capture your vision correctly.
Your goals at the center. Personal passion is fundamental to shaping a good custom design. Find that one view across the valley that always takes your breath away and orient the windows, the alfresco or the whole house around it. Design the functionality and flow around your family member’s hobbies and interests, like a master kitchen and cellar for avid foodies, or a dedicated cinema for movie buffs. Craft communal entertaining spaces for having fun and making deeper connections with friends. Put a fireplace where the family will actually gather around it in July.
Your custom build process
- Initial conversation. Share your vision, your must-haves and any plans you already have.
- Discovery and site assessment. We do a site visit on your block to understand the topography, aspect and specific requirements.
- Concept design. If you are designing with us, we develop concepts shaped around your brief. If you have brought plans, we review them for buildability and cost.
- Design development. We refine the layout, spaces and details together until the home reflects your vision, with you making the calls.
- Inclusions and selections. Start with our Inclusions, and then upgrade select items that align with your style.
- Preliminary design and site tests. We require a Preliminary Design Fee to produce a full block assessment, soil test and contour survey, which inform the design and produce accurate drawings, so there are no surprises down the track.
- Concept and quotation. We present your concept drawings, make one round of refinements, then provide a fixed price quotation.
- Contract and lodgement. We prepare your construction plans, engineering, BASIX report and any bushfire, stormwater or environmental documentation, then sign your contract and lodge your application with Council or a certifier.
- Construction. We then move onto your build, coordinating trades and materials and keeping your build moving through each stage, with transparency at every step of the way.
- Handover. Once every detail is perfect, we walk you through any need-to-know information, then the keys are all yours!
