Quality, care, and flexibility
What makes a Wattle Court Homes a great choice for your next build project
A Builder who genuinely cares
A guided process from start to finish
When you build with Wattle Court Southern Highlands you get a builder who is obsessed with getting the details right, who is passionate about his clients and his craft, and whose reputation is guaranteed by more than 350 previous clients.
Dave’s attention to detail and love of building is a level of commitment that you don’t find everywhere, and it is now being handed down. Rhys has come up through the trades with qualifications in carpentry and plumbing, and is taking on the running of the business with the same standards he was raised on.
Because we only take on a certain number of builds at once, you get the personalised level of customer service you would (and should!) expect.
From blueprint to reality
At our core is a profound passion that each and every client truly loves their home.
Our sweet spot is building boutique-quality homes, personalised to your unique needs, at rates affordable to the average Australian working family.
We are not a budget volume builder: We give our clients flexibility and choice in their design, and take the time to understand their needs. We don’t cut corners on quality, as our reputation is built on the satisfaction of our clients.
We are also not a luxury architectural builder: Our homes are built for real, everyday conditions for families on working wages. Our process isn’t suited for over-engineered luxury builds that have no ceiling on price.
If you’re looking to build a real family home, designed with your unique choices, built to a standard you won’t lose sleep over, and a process that makes it all simple – that’s what we do best.
Why Wattle Court Southern Highlands?
We build not just homes, but vibrant extensions of your identity.
We build above the minimum
Plenty of builders will meet the standard and stop there. In a region that gets frost most of the winter and forty degree days in summer, meeting the standard is not the same as building a comfortable home.
Our builds tend to exceed the minimum industry requirements. Spacious rooms, higher ceilings, better insulation, glazing selected for the aspect, and thoughtful design elements that make the difference between a home that looks good in photos and one that is genuinely nice to live in through a Highlands July. It costs a little more to build that way. It costs considerably less to live in.
A guided process from start to finish
As a new homeowner, the process of building should be exciting and filled with anticipation.
In reality, building a home is actually a very complex process – but that part is for us to worry about! You are purchasing something new, so it shouldn’t feel like you’re taking on a second job.
Our goal is to provide you with transparency at every step while keeping it all in layman’s terms, so you feel informed without it being overwhelming or too technical.
Less red tape means quicker to start
When it comes to timeframes, we can typically start your build faster than the big national builders who usually have more departments, red tape, and often a backlog of clients that holds up your build from starting sooner.
Bigger building companies also rely on trades that are sometimes indifferent to the outcome of your home, as the pressures of building in volume leads to mistakes and shortcuts that get swept over. We use a dedicated local tradebase of people who have earned our trust, who we treat like family, and who show care in the finish of their work. We also carry our own carpenters, which means the framing and fixing on your home is done by people who answer to us directly.
We take the blocks other builders pass on
A lot of land in this region comes with something attached. A fall across the site. A bushfire rating out in the timber country. Difficult access, a long service run, or a heritage conservation area two doors down. Plenty of builders would rather steer you toward a flatter, easier site, and some will simply decline a block once the slope gets serious.
We take a different view. Working out how to build well on a difficult block is the part of the job Dave enjoys most, and a single storey split level home on land that falls away is one of our favourite things to design. We will tell you honestly what your block needs and what it will cost, and then we will build it properly, from what lies beneath the slab to the finishing touches.
