Acreage is a chance to spread out, and our designs are shaped to take advantage of it.
Wide, country style home designs work beautifully on gently falling blocks where the paddock is as much your space as the living room. With large alfrescos and open-plan living, they create a strong connection between inside and out, and with the right orientation you can fill the home with light and hold the winter sun where you actually spend your evenings.
Where the land falls away more sharply, a single storey split level design is often the better answer. Stepping the home down the slope in two or three levels gives you the view and the flow without the cost of cutting and filling half the paddock. It is one of Dave’s favourite homes to build, and it is a design approach this region calls for far more often than most.
When you wake up every day to frost on the paddock and the birds warming up in the gums, you’ll be saying to yourself “How’s the serenity!”.

Where we build acreage homes
The Wingecarribee, the Goulburn plains and the country running out towards Yass offer some of the best acreage lifestyle blocks in New South Wales. A few areas we know well are:
- Bundanoon and Wingello. Village pockets on the southern side of the Highlands, wrapped in bushland and rural land. Ideal for homes designed to open up to a garden, a view and a fire in winter.
- Exeter and Sutton Forest. Established rural addresses with generous land and a genuine country feel, well suited to wide homes with deep verandahs.
- Robertson. Rich basalt country on the escarpment edge, cooler and greener than anywhere else in the region. Blocks here reward a home designed around the outlook and the weather.
- Kangaroo Valley. Dramatic valley country east of the Highlands, where the block itself usually decides the design. Sloping land, big outlooks and homes that need to sit properly in the landscape.
- Marulan and Tarago. Larger, more affordable lifestyle blocks with quick highway access, popular with families who want real space without Highlands land prices.
